8 REASON WHY YOU ARE IN SHAPE ENOUGH TO START

IT’S SCARY TO START A NEW FITNESS PROGRAM—WE ARE WITH YOU ON THAT.

You’d love to find a gym that gets you real results that LAST. Though you’ve considered CrossFit, all you can think about is how long it’s been since you were “on track” and how hard it’s going to be. You’re not sure you can handle the workouts.

Sure, our workouts can be hard, but over time (and not much time), you start to get the hang of it and find things you CAN do well.

What you find at Sweat Factory Crossfit is:

1 – THE WORKOUTS ARE JUST LIKE REAL LIFE

Getting out of a chair, picking up your bag, walking upstairs… these

are things you do in real life, and our workouts focus on THOSE

movements to help get you fit. If you can do those basic things, you

can do our workouts.

2 – YOU START SLOWLY

You learn how to move BEFORE adding too much weight or intensity. We don’t WANT you to lift too much or go too fast at the beginning. Our goal is that you learn good form with light weights and slower workouts until you feel comfortable enough to add speed or weight.

3 – THE FOCUS IS ON SHOWING UP

Until you can manage to show up at least 3 times per week, it doesn’t

matter how fast you run, how much you lift, or what you can do. The

program is focused on building good habits before adding intensity.

Show up enough and you end up in amazing shape.

4 – MOST OF OUR MEMBERS STARTED IN TERRIBLE SHAPE

It’s hard to believe when you watch them now, but so many of our

best athletes had never touched a barbell, couldn’t do a push

up, and had 20-50 pounds to lose when they started. Ask any of

them what it was like when they started and they all say they were

out of shape and TERRIFIED.

5 – NO MIRRORS, NO JUDGEMENT

We don’t care about how you look, how fast you go, or how much you lift unless YOU do. This goes for coaches AND athletes. The other folks in your classes are working so hard to improve themselves that they don’t have time to judge you. In fact, it’s the opposite … because most of us have been there, our community is all about supporting you in showing up, working hard, and achieving whatever goals are important to YOU.

6 – YOU’LL TRACK AND CELEBRATE PROGRESS

You’ll notice that we put times or weights up on the board when you do your workout. We also encourage you to track them on our app. However, this is only because we want you to see how far you’ve come. If you do one push-up on Day 1, then on Day 90 you do 10,

you want to recognize and acknowledge that progress. You only get

that if you track your progress! (Note, this is not a requirement, some people are perfectly happy to never track a result and we support

that, too.)

7 – YOU WON’T DO ANYTHING YOU DON’T WANT TO

Does your knee, shoulder, elbow, or neck bother you? No problem! We’ll change the workout so you don’t have to use them. Does the idea of running 400 meters scare the bejesus out of you? Let’s skip it and have you hop on a rower! The movements, times, and weights we put in our workouts are just suggestions. The goal is for you to get a good workout that fits for YOU every single time. Your coaches are there to make the workout work for YOU.

8 – WHAT WOULD YOU DO OTHERWISE?

How would you “get in shape” to do a workout program that promises to get you in shape? Would you run? Walk? Do Pilates or yoga? Just diet more? How would you know if you were in shape enough?

The goal of our program is to get you in the best shape of your life NO MATTER WHERE YOU START. If this is your goal, why would you start with anything else?

I was not active or involved in sports growing up, it wasn’t until my late 30’s sitting behind a desk all day that I recognized the importance of being healthy and active. Being overweight and unhappy with myself I decided to make some changes. I joined a local gym and worked with a trainer on nutrition and exercise. He believed in me, encouraged me and helped guide me on the path to wellness and fitness. Seventy pounds later and much happier inside and out, I am hoping to help inspire others with their fitness and nutrition journey. CrossFit has been a big part of my life for almost 6 years now and I am humbled to be part of this amazing coaching team at Sweat Factory Rockledge. I enjoy working with the Kids program to help encourage them to stay active while teaching proper movements and form. And we can have fun while doing it!

MACI

CEO / COACH

I have always been part of some type of sport since junior high and high school. Basketball, Volleyball, Track. Dance etc. I attended college on a dance scholarship dancing for the Basketball team half time shows then moving on to Professional Ballroom Dance after. I traveled the US competing for 6 + years. Then, yes, I became a mother. Actually a 225 lb mom! I made the decision I would look 21 again no matter the pain and sweat involved. I took up running and with Clint began Triathlons. The next few years we’re full of Triathlons, Marathons obstacle races and Ultramarathons. Including a 50k trail race. I lost my weight, ALL OF IT. And was thin but wanted more tone. Clint gave me a weightlifting routine & proved to me a woman can lift weights and get LEAN and tone. NOT big & bulky. As a Firefighter and a Pro-Women’s Football player, I strive to stay in top physical condition. Nine years ago we found Crossfit. It is the perfect balance of full-body, core strength, endurance and explosive intensity that I need for both of my careers.

After my time playing College Football ended, I became comfortable as a “Couch Potato” for the next ten years. Then I discovered the Body for Life challenge and lost 35 lbs. TWICE! Ask me & I’ll share the story with you. The new me began training for Triathlons. I have competed in over 100 triathlons including 4 half Ironman and 3 full Ironman races, 15 marathons, (6) 50k marathons, and (4) 50-mile ultra marathons. I found Crossfit 9 years ago when looking for something new and fun. Maci and had started a website coaching others in nutrition and exercise. Then we decided to begin our new journey with our own CrossFit Box. My background also includes the study of nutrition in college and I am a retired Paramedic of 28 years.
