SMART GOAL OR NEW YEARS RESOLUTION

What’s better than a New Year’s resolution? It’s called a “SMART goal.”

Here’s why resolutions aren’t always ideal: They’re usually not specific enough, they’re seldom measurable, they’re only sometimes achievable, they’re often not completely relevant, and they’re rarely time-bound. In short, resolutions are generally vague.

Instead, we focus on SMART goals: specific, measurable, achievable, relevant, and time-bound goals. Resolutions indicate desire and motivation—which are great!—but clearer statements will help you get real results faster.

Resolution example: “I vow to get fitter in 2022!”

SMART example: “I’m setting a goal of working out three times every week from now until July 1 so I can lose 10 lb. and fit into my swimsuit.”

Another SMART example: “I want to add 20 lb. to my back squat before June 1.”

The differences are obvious. Resolutions often don’t point to specific actions, and they don’t provide deadlines or accountability. SMART goals highlight clear steps that must be taken on a timeline.

In our meeting, we’re going to go over your progress so you can see what you accomplished in 2021. Then we’ll find out where you want to go this year. The final step: We’ll provide the exact plan to make sure you get there. 

When we know your goals, we can set up milestones we’ll celebrate together, help you move toward your goals at a much faster rate, and put together a check-in schedule so we can adjust the plan if needed or set new goals after you cross off the current ones.

If you’ve been feeling blah for a while, a new goal will fire you up again. And if you’ve been crushing it lately, we’ll make sure you have fresh, appropriate targets you can shoot for.

Imagine it’s April 1, and you’re feeling completely thrilled with your progress in the gym over the past 90 days. You’re smiling with satisfaction. What would have caused that feeling?

I was not active or involved in sports growing up, it wasn’t until my late 30’s sitting behind a desk all day that I recognized the importance of being healthy and active. Being overweight and unhappy with myself I decided to make some changes. I joined a local gym and worked with a trainer on nutrition and exercise. He believed in me, encouraged me and helped guide me on the path to wellness and fitness. Seventy pounds later and much happier inside and out, I am hoping to help inspire others with their fitness and nutrition journey. CrossFit has been a big part of my life for almost 6 years now and I am humbled to be part of this amazing coaching team at Sweat Factory Rockledge. I enjoy working with the Kids program to help encourage them to stay active while teaching proper movements and form. And we can have fun while doing it!

She also has over 20 years experience working in the Occupational Therapy field. Assisting athletes in functional fitness to prolong a healthy life is the focal point of her coaching philosophy.

I have always been part of some type of sport since junior high and high school. Basketball, Volleyball, Track. Dance etc. I attended college on a dance scholarship dancing for the Basketball team half time shows then moving on to Professional Ballroom Dance after. I traveled the US competing for 6 + years. Then, yes, I became a mother. Actually a 225 lb mom! I made the decision I would look 21 again no matter the pain and sweat involved. I took up running and with Clint began Triathlons. The next few years we’re full of Triathlons, Marathons obstacle races and Ultramarathons. Including a 50k trail race. I lost my weight, ALL OF IT. And was thin but wanted more tone. Clint gave me a weightlifting routine & proved to me a woman can lift weights and get LEAN and tone. NOT big & bulky. As a Firefighter and a Pro-Women’s Football player, I strive to stay in top physical condition. Nine years ago we found Crossfit. It is the perfect balance of full-body, core strength, endurance and explosive intensity that I need for both of my careers.

After my time playing College Football ended, I became comfortable as a “Couch Potato” for the next ten years. Then I discovered the Body for Life challenge and lost 35 lbs. TWICE! Ask me & I’ll share the story with you. The new me began training for Triathlons. I have competed in over 100 triathlons including 4 half Ironman and 3 full Ironman races, 15 marathons, (6) 50k marathons, and (4) 50-mile ultra marathons. I found Crossfit 9 years ago when looking for something new and fun. Maci and had started a website coaching others in nutrition and exercise. Then we decided to begin our new journey with our own CrossFit Box. My background also includes the study of nutrition in college and I am a retired Paramedic of 28 years.

HOLD POLICY

Month-to-Month Membership Agreements and Annual Membership Agreements: You may place your Membership on hold two (2) times per calendar year up to three (3) consecutive months each time. Advanced notice of at least two (2) business days is required. The hold must be 30 days in duration at a minimum and 30 days must elapse between holds. Upon expiration of the term of the hold, your account will automatically become active and payments will resume. Should you choose to return prior to the end of their hold period, the hold will be released and payments will resume.

CANCELLATION POLICY

All membership agreements require 30-days written notice to cancel your membership. This form will serve as your 30-days written cancellation notice. Note that if you have a scheduled renewal payment within 30-days of your invoice billing date, the payment will be processed as scheduled. Your membership will be canceled at the end of your final paid month. All payments are non-refundable. All grandfathered membership rates will also be forfeited and returning members will be subject to current rates.
